From the Organizer
PRACTICE. All Track Stars will learn the basics of every track & field event, from shot-put to distance running. Depending on ages, programs will include around an hour of practice twice a week for 5 weeks. The summer programs are split into two session a summer for 10 weeks total. Each session ends with a track & field meet where athletes race, jump, and throw to show off their skills. Athletes can start as young as three years old and grow into our more structured programs of competition. Age groups are suggested, but athletes are also encouraged to select teams based on ability and enjoyment.
COACHING. All our coaches are student athletes who are trained and eager to teach athletes. Typically high school or college aged students who are leaders of their school's track teams. Assistant coaches are younger student athletes and volunteer coaches! To learn more about coaching go to https://www.trackstars.org/coach.
SKILLS. Athletes will learn age appropriate skills for success on and off the track. Our main goal is always fun, but we also want to develop young athletes for greatness! Track Stars can expect to out perform their peers in any sport, as they learn the importance of growth, emotional intelligence, and teamwork. On the track, parents watch in amazement as their young children blossom with body awareness and motor skills. Older track stars develop, endurance, strength, and speed through our inclusive workouts. By the end of each summer, your star will grow to new levels!
***This Club is not an elite competitive youth organization. If your athlete wants to compete in AAU or USATF sanction meets you may need to consider another program.***
