From the Organizer
Tori Cook was a beautiful person inside and out. She was passionate about nature, preserving our planet, and helping others. Tori was very artistic; she loved ceramics, painting, and design. Unfortunately, during her time here on Earth, she also struggled greatly with mental illness. Because of this, she felt strongly about the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation as their mission and purpose really resonated with her. 100% of every dollar donated to their organization is invested in research. As a way to raise money and awareness for BBRF, Tori created an enamel pin titled, “HAY” which stood for “How are you?” The pin depicts a smiley face or a frown, depending on the orientation in which it is worn. She donated all the profits from her sales to BBRF.
Tori’s life was cut far too short. She is loved and missed by all who knew her. We want to carry on her mission to support scientific research, raise awareness for all types of mental health illnesses, and find purpose from this tragedy. We will be honoring Tori with a 5k walk/run/hike at Washington Twp. Park in Avon on August 15, 2026. We hope you will join us by participating in “THAT5k” -- Tori’s Hike for Another Tomorrow. If you cannot join us in person, we hope you will participate virtually and consider donating to the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation with our link. Plus, we're always looking for sponsors so if you're interested in sponsoring the event with your advertising going on hundreds of T shirts plus email ads please reach out to us at 317-504-6587
One in five Americans lives with mental illness. BBRF is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization committed to alleviating this suffering. Please join us in the fight by supporting “THAT5k.” Our goal is to raise awareness, disseminate vital information, and eradicate the stigma of mental illness. Your contribution will be invaluable to the success of our event and will help support research that is making a difference in the lives of people affected every day.
