From the Organizer

Join us for the 3rd Annual Riverpark 5K Summer Series!  This is a run/walk event with the entire course located on a bike path and sidewalk within the neighborhood.  The starting and ending point is located at Windrow Park.  Each race is limited to first 150 registrants!

Choose to participate with us for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 weeks!  Plus, there is a discount for registering for all 4 races (full series)!  100% of the proceeds go toward Rio Mesa Cross Country and Track teams.

 

Dates:

The 2026 series will span 4 weeks beginning with a special 4th of July 5K Race and continuing each following Thursday:

  • Week 1: 7/4/26 (9 am start)
  • Week 2: 7/9/26 (6 pm start)
  • Week 3: 7/16/26 (6 pm start)
  • Week 4: 7/23/26 (6 pm start)

Each week will also have a Free Kids 1K Race (ages 7 and under) 15 minutes before the official 5K race (8:45 am on July 4th and 5:45 pm July 9th, 16th, and 23rd).

 

Awards

  • 5K: As this is a series, awards will be given to the top 3 in each age category at the conclusion of Week 4 (7/23) at Windrow Park.
  • 1K (Kids):  Each finisher in the Kids 1K races receives a finisher medal!  

 

T-Shirts:

T-Shirts will be for sale at the event, online for $20, or receive a FREE T-shirt by registering for the full 4-week series.

Check-In & Bib Pickup:

  • 7/4: 8:00 am in the park
  • 7/9, 7/16, 7/23: 5:00 pm in the park

 

Series Points and Age Groups for the Riverpark 5K:

Age Group Points are given based on what place you get in your age group each week (please note age is based on your age on the last day of the series).  If you don't place in the top 9 in your age group, you get 1 point for participating each week.

 

Age groups: 1-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

 

Points:

1st Place - 10 Points

2nd Place - 8 Points

3rd Place - 7 Points

4th Place - 6 Points

5th Place - 5 Points

6th Place - 4 Points

7th Place - 3 Points

8th Place - 2 Points

9th or greater Place - 1 Point
