Join us for the 5th Annual Paper Maker OCR!


This hometown obstacle course race brings together athletes, families, and friends from across the PNW for a morning of challenge, laughter, and teamwork — all surrounded by the scenic forest trails and natural terrain of Lacamas Lake Regional Park.

Whether you’re a returning racer or trying OCR for the first time, expect natural-style obstacles, new features to celebrate our fifth year, and a shared spirit of grit, community, and adventure.

 
Course Details
Distance: 4+ miles
Obstacles: 10+ challenges designed to test full-body strength, endurance, agility, and determination.
Terrain: Packed dirt trails, rocky paths, shaded forest corridors, and natural elevation shifts through Lacamas Lake Regional Park. Runners will encounter tree-rooted trails, rolling hills, and a few water crossings.
Obstacle Style: Expect crawls, carries, balance tests, tree hurdles, and log jumps — built right into the natural terrain. Bypass options are available for those needing to modify or skip safely. Please bring your own hydration for the trail. What you pack in, pack out. There are No Water Stations on the Course. 
 
New This Year — The Paper Makers Kiddo Race!
To celebrate our 5th anniversary, we’re excited to introduce the Paper Makers Kiddo Race — a short, fun, and safe obstacle course designed just for our youngest athletes! A signature wall to sign after your accomplishment! New obstacles, and always an updated course. 

Details:

Ages: 4 – 10 years old
Start Time: ~ 9:00 AM (heats every 5 minutes)
Course: A short loop featuring mini obstacles like low crawls, small hurdles, and balance challenges — perfect for introducing kids to the OCR spirit.
Parent Supervision: Required — parents can run alongside or cheer from the sidelines.
Finish Reward: Each kiddo will earn their very own Paper Maker Kiddo Race Shirt to celebrate their accomplishment!
The perfect way for little racers to get muddy, have fun, and feel like true Paper Makers!

 
Race Day Schedule
Check-In Opens: 8:00 AM
Kids Race: ~ 9:00 AM (heats every 5 min)
Main OCR Heats Begin: 9:30 AM for all adult and team participants

Open Community Wave
All heats will launch from the start line located on the backside of the festival and registration area, with clear signage and volunteers directing racers.

Competitive Division & Prizes Are you ready to race for the podium? The Competitive Wave is where grit meets precision — and this year, we’re upping the stakes!

Top Two Male Racers — Cash Prizes Awarded
Top Two Female Racers — Cash Prizes Awarded


Rules & Standards:

Competitive racers must complete all obstacles to standard and finish the entire 4+-mile course to qualify for prizes.
Failure to complete any obstacle or mandatory standard will result in disqualification from prize eligibility.
Final results and awards will be verified at the finish line.
Awards time will be announced at the event.

Registration, Parking & Logistics


Registration Area: Near the main bathrooms by the playground at Lacamas Lake Regional Park.
Parking Options:

Main Lot: 3344 NE Everett Street — located beside the playground and restrooms, closest to the registration zone.
Overflow Lot: Gravel lot north of the lake, accessed by crossing the bridge between Round Lake and Lacamas Lake and turning onto 35th Ave. This lot provides ample parking and easy walk-in access to the festival area.
Additional Street Parking: Limited parallel parking is available along Everett Street near the park entrance — please park respectfully and obey signage.


Facilities: Restrooms (Only at registration area), Water Bottles at Finish Line, Snacks and  Fun Festival Area With Local Vendors & Small Business.
