From the Organizer
The Reason: This isn't just another 5k benefit for charity. This race is creating a trail where one didn’t exist. When you run this race, you become part of a community that believes everyone deserves the opportunity to race and to feel like they have purpose and dignity.
The Order of Events: The 1k will start first. We will celebrate the hard work and bravery of the families and those affected by disability for signing up, showing up, and completing the race to the best of their ability. The 5k will begin shortly after the conclusion of the 1k.
The Org: Mitchell’s Mountain serves and supports families affected by autism and other Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. We achieve this through essential respite care, an upcoming long-term residential community designed for those with severe autism, and local family events like this race.
