The Malta Seedling Project is hosting the 5K Tractor Trot again on June 27, 2026!! New weekend date this year!
Come support our community, no experience needed. Any level of physical fitness, you can walk, jog or run the course. Sideline cheerleaders are welcome also!
The Malta Seedling Project strives to bring awareness to all of the wonderful opportunities Malta provides for families, businesses and organizations wishing to develop and enhance our community and lives.
Proceeds from this race will continue the Malta Seedling Project’s current activities and offer new opportunities. Community beautification, Community Garden Club of vegetables & flowers, Music in the Park, Movie in the Park, Family Fishing Derby, Chili Cook-Off, and a town mural are some of the AMAZING achievements brought to our community.
New welcome signage, flower beds within the Village, a walk/bike path between town & our local subdivision are a few developments already completed along with a magnificent Mural to highlight our Malta history and heritage!
To promote fitness and healthy lifestyles for everyone we encourage your participation. Whether you are running your first 5k, striving for your personal best, looking for family time or enjoy a little competition, this event is for you. The race will be timed & with a shot gun start.

Awards will be as follows: Medals awarded to the top 3 times for both male and female

Race day registration will be available from 7:00am until 7:30am and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. The run/walk start time is 8:00 a.m., following the national anthem. Registration, check-in, start, and finish will be located at the Malta Lions Park, 409 N 4th Street, Malta, IL 60150. Run packets (including bib numbers and t-shirts) will be handed out at the check-in table, on the morning of the event.
*Must register by 11:59 PM June 6, 2026 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Online registration deadline is 10:00pm June 26, 2026. You can register in person on the morning of the race beginning at 7:00am at the race location at Lion's Park, Malta, IL.
Race Day Safety Guidelines:
Unfortunately, we have to ask that you leave your 4-legged running partners at home for safety reasons for all involved.
Please understand our goal is to provide a family friendly, fun event where everyone can “Come and Run/Walk Safely”.
Water stations on the course and finish lines will be provided.
Participants whose actions do not meet the above expectations, and/or are creating a risk for themselves or others, will be asked to leave the event.
