From the Organizer
Whether you want to swim or kayak, we have the sprint-distance race for you. Both races start at 8 am Saturday, June 27th. The swimmers start 750m upstream and the kayakers start in the river at the transition area. After the 750m downstream swim or the 5k kayak loop, racers will ride a 10.6 mile bike course followed by a 5k run. We have one, central transition area at the Lockport Boat Launch--a truly beautiful spot for family and friends to cheer you on! In addition to deciding if you will race the swim tri or the adventure tri, when registering, you must decide if you want to race individually or with a relay team. The system is set up so that each relay team member will register separately, but using the same team name. Once your first team member registers, the others will find the team name on the dropdown menu of existing team names. If you are the first, you will get to type in your team's name. 2-person and 3-person relay teams will compete against each other within the same tri type and gender division, but they are listed separately at registration due to the different fee schedules. Relay teams can be All Female, All Male, or Mixed Gender. The top three teams in each gender category for each race will receive awards. All participants completing the course individually will register for either the swim or adventure option (no need to enter a "team name." For each race, the top male and female, in addition to the top three males and females in each of the following age groups will receive awards: under 21, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, & 70 and over. "Recovery" food will be provided for participants after the race. Registration includes either a long-sleeved, super soft race shirt or a cool athletic towel, your choice. Safety Note: PFDs must be worn while in your boat, and helmets must be worn while on your bike. The bike course is on open roads, so no headphones/earbuds may be worn while on that leg of the race.

Three sports, one race — swim, bike, run in sequence, with transitions that are a discipline of their own.
Open water, open roads, and competition with yourself. Cross the finish line knowing what it took to get there.
Swim, bike, run — back to back. The sprint distance makes it far more accessible than most people think.
