From the Organizer
Join us for the 13th annual Chicagoland SCADaddle to raise money for much-needed SCAD research. Participants are invited to participate in the 5K walk/run at their own pace on the trails through the Danada Forest Preserve.
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood type of heart attack. SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms. Most patients are younger healthy women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
Our 5K chip timed run/walk takes place at Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, IL. The USATF certified 5K course runs through and around the park on a varied terrain of crushed cinder, concrete, sidewalk and grass.
Opening Ceremony at 8:30 am. The run starts at 9:00 am and all participants will be timed. Following the race, join us for refreshments, vendors, our SCAD store & fun for all.
Awards will be given to overall winner male and female. Medals/recognition will be given to 2nd and 3rd place male/female overall and to the top three males/females for age groups: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and up.
Raise at least $1,000 and you will automatically be refunded your registration fee of $45.00 Start today!!!
A Fundraising page will be automatically added during registration; however, you are not required to fundraise, but it would be greatly appreciated if you do.
