From the Organizer
After the fun and success of last year's event, we are hosting the 2nd Annual 2 Dam Fun Race. If you like to run, walk, or bike, then this event is for YOU! Participants will start at the edge of the Hardy Dam and run, walk or bike along The Edge pathway all the way to Croton Dam and into DuChemin Park. All ages welcomed! Get out and enjoy the scenery with family and friends! The race will be about 7 miles long. (Approximately 2.5 hours walking, 30 min biking) - THIS RACE IS GOING TO BE 2 DAM FUN!!!
IF YOU ARE BIKING 2DF: Racers who are riding bikes for this event, will need to DROP OFF YOUR BIKE FIRST at the Hardy Dam Trailhead, on the North side of Hardy Dam (This will also be the start of the race). After your bike is dropped, you will drive back to DuChemin Park (Croton Pond Boat Ramp parking lot), located at 5439 Washington St., Newaygo, MI 49337. You will then park your vehicle and head to registration at the duChemin Park Pavillion - look for the RACE HQ signs for registration. You will then be shuttled back up to the start where your bike was dropped. DO NOT COME TO REGISTRATION OR DUCHEMIN PARK UNTIL YOUR BIKE HAS BEEN DROPPED FIRST!
IF YOU ARE RUNNING/WALKING 2DF: Racers who are running/walking proceed directly to DuChemin Park (Croton Pond Boat Ramp parking lot), located at 5439 Washington St., Newaygo to park your vehicle. After you park your vehicle you will head to registration at the duChemin Park Pavillion - looks for the RACE HQ signs for registration. You will then be shuttled back up to the starting line, which is the Hardy Dam Trailhead on the North side of Hardy Dam.
AT REGISTRATION: We will confirm your sign up, payment and waiver signature. You will receive a Racer Bib with a number, as well as a drink tab and a food tab for after the race.
We expect the race to start at 9:30 AM. This may be slightly delayed depending on the amount of runs that the shuttles need to make in order to get everyone up to the starting line. We will start all of the Bikers first. After the bikes start, we will start all of the runners/walkers. Once you finish the race, head over to our Tap Trailer for a cold beverage and some snacks. Your bib will have 2 tickets, one for a free beverage and one for free food.
Racers will also receive a 2 Dam Fun T-Shirt for this Event. And don't forget, the BEST INDIVIDUAL FEMALE FUN COSTUME, BEST INDIVIDUAL MALE FUN COSTUME AND BEST GROUP THEME COSTUME (2 or more people is a group) wins a trophy!
