Military Heroes Run is celebrating our 15th Annual Run. We raise much needed funds to support America's fighting service veterans who have suffered injuries while defending the freedoms which we all enjoy. We have raised and donated over $2.8 million in our 14 years of hosting this event. Thank you to all who have ran with us, volunteered with us and for our amazing sponsors. We are looking forward to another great year!
We are running in the Town of Westlake. Our event location is in the Solana Plaza and we will be running on the trail/path.

Parking: We will use a parking structure (garage B) and the south side of Garage B.There is NO parking at the event site, you need to park in the designated lot and walk across the street.

The 5k course is a loop with some shade. The 10k course will follow the 5k until the 1 mile then branch off along the trail a different direction out and back, joining back with the 5k course. The 10k is hilly with some shade.
Chip-Timed Event
The 5k & 10k will be electronically timed by DoMore Race Services. All participants will be given a bib with a disposable chip attached.
Fun Run participants are not chip timed.
Overall M/F finishers, Master M/F finishers, and three deep for the 5 and 10K in the following age group categories for M/F:
14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-80, 80+

The 10K is the distance where running stops feeling like a starting point and starts feeling like a sport. Long enough to require a real training block. Short enough that race day is fully manageable for a first-timer who's put in the work.
Race day energy at a 10K is community at its best — strangers cheering you by name, people moving toward the same goal, an atmosphere that solo training can't replicate. It's fast enough that you'll spend the whole race pushing rather than managing your effort.
This is also the distance that builds the base for everything else. Most athletes who go on to run half marathons, do triathlons, or compete in HYROX started here. What you need: running shoes fitted to your stride, a training plan, and the race on your calendar. The registration is what makes the deadline real.
How long to train: 4–8 weeks for most fitness levels.
From 5K to marathon, running races are the most accessible entry point into endurance sport. There's a distance for every fitness level and a community at every start line.
