Relevant Running is always trying to help keep you motivated and inspired. It's been said that US Marines run 165+ miles during recruit training (aka boot camp). Join us throughout January and February 2027 for the Military Miles Challenge. A virtual challenge for runners and walkers of all ages anywhere at any time. Your goal, should you choose to accept it, is to walk and/or run 165 purposeful/training miles from January 1st until February 28th 2027. But, there is MUCH MORE than just a single medal! Read on for details!
Military Miles Challenge Participants will receive:
The custom designed Military Miles Challenge medal representing 6 major branches of the US Military (US Marines, Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Space Force). EVEN IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE 165 MILES, YOU WILL STILL GET YOUR MEDAL. Scroll down for picture of this awesome custom 4 inch medal. Runners who surpass 165 miles during the 2 month challenge will receive EITHER 1 dog tag (with ball chain) of their choice for each additional 15 miles beyond 165 miles OR 1 lapel pin of their choice for each additional 15 miles beyond 165 miles OR 1 paracord survival bracelet of their choice for each additional 15 miles beyond 165 miles. Scroll down for pictures of this awesome extra bling. Please be sure you register for your desired extra bling (dog tags OR lapel pins OR paracord survival bracelets). During the 2 month challenge, you will receive an email from the Race Director requesting your dog tag OR lapel pin OR paracord survival bracelet branch of service preferences (depending upon what you registered for). PLEASE NOTE: Participants are limited to earning a maximum of 6 dog tags OR 6 lapel pins OR 6 bracelets for this challenge. Tracking
Tracking is accomplished by uploading to the Challenge runsignup page. You will be able to see your progress tracking bar as well as milestones achieved along the way. You will also be able to follow others that are currently active in the Challenge. You will receive an email with your tracking link shortly after midnight the morning the challenge starts.
Challenge duration:
You can start/join the Challenge any time after 12:01am Eastern time January 1st 2027. Complete your purposeful/training miles at your own pace throughout the 2 months. The Challenge ends at 11:59pm Eastern time February 28th 2027.
Leaderboard Status
You will be able to log your distance, time for each run or walk. This will track who is in the lead.
Course Information: It's virtual, so wherever you choose to run or walk!
