From the Organizer
Join #DoYouGiveARuck? for our 7th annual Operation Shell Shock event. This 20 mile ruck march is free to enter and will challenge you to your very core.
Every year we ruck for over 20 miles to honor those we lost to fight with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and those still fighting the good fight. We attach names to ribbons so if even if they can not be with us in person, they will be there in spirit.
This year we will bring the fight back home to Vero Beach where it all started. We will ruck 20 miles north into Sebastian.
Every 24 hours 17 to 22 veteran's lose their lives and the fight to veteran suicide that is mostly fueled by the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As veteran's it is our duty to fight this war back home to save our brother's and sister's lives by building awareness. We also like to honor those who are still battling PTSD and those who have lost the war to PTSD by attaching ribbons of names to our packs so that they may ruck with their brother's and sister's in spirit. Ceremonies will be held throughout the ruck as we honor the ones we lost to the war back home.
#DYGAR? will provide meals, fall out vehicles, water, and other necessary items to complete this operation successfully.
We highly suggest people arrange their own transportation if they do not wish to ride the bus back to the start points. No transportation will be provided for those who wish to remain for the get together after the event is over.
Minors 15 and up ARE allowed to participate UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS. Parent, Guardian, ROTC program, or recruiter must follow in a chase vehicle. This will allow our ruckers to keep moving forward if the minor is unable to complete the entire ruck.
Final role call ceremony will be held at the end of the ruck. Busses will transport you back to the start point.
