TRC’s Equalizer 5K 2026
Once again Tulsa Running Club is running its Equalizer 5K — a challenge among the ages.
This year the race will be held at Mohawk Park, Shelter #3, 4301 Creek Dr, Tulsa, OK 74115.
The Equalizer 5K is an atypical race, leveling the entire field with staggered start times based on every age/gender group’s 5K state record!
Each age/gender group has its own start time in reverse order. For example, males ages 85-over would start first at 7:30 a.m. (state 5K record is 35:24), followed 2 minutes, 26 seconds later by females ages 85-over (state 5K record 32:58). And so on, so forth until males ages 20-39 would start last at 7:51:38 a.m. (13:46 state 5K record).
The Equalizer 5K pits young and not-as-young against each other to recognize the best runners of any age and gender, so the first 10 individuals across the finish line will receive finisher flags!
We will have a running clock, but the event isn’t electronically timed as finish order is what we will record.
We won’t know the first age/gender group to start the race until all registrations are in, which will include race-day signups.
We ask that you be at your designated group corral 5 minutes before your start time.
The complete list of start times will be posted at the race. Be ready! Many groups are only seconds apart.
We’ll have a water station at about the halfway point of the race.
Pre-race day registration will be $25 until June 30, 2026.
PRICE INCREASE July 1, 2026, to $30.
Entrants will receive cool TRC logo running crew socks.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will be held at REI, 6939 S. Elwood Ave, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74132 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on July 16 and July 17, 2026.
Race-day registration is $30 and race day packet pick up opens at 6:45 a.m., closing at 7:15 a.m. The first wave will begin at 7:30 a.m.
