From the Organizer
The Savannah Mile returns for 2026! This highly anticipated race is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16, as part of National Law Enforcement Week. For over 15 years, this event has served such an important role in fulfilling the organization's mission – to raise vital funds for the families of fallen heroes in our community. The course, beginning at the south end of Forsyth Park, will take participants down Drayton Street and finish up on Broughton Street.
Runners and walkers of all fitness levels are invited to participate in this unique event, which will feature six heats for all ages and abilities, including a “Memory Walk” for the families and friends of fallen heroes to walk the mile in memory of and to honor their loved ones. The last run of the morning will be the “Heroes Heat,” which is open to all first responders and military in full gear (30-pound or over gear is required to compete for the “Full Gear All Out Flag!”).
The races will conclude with an awards celebration in Johnson Square, where attendees will enjoy complimentary food and beverages while race times are announced. There will be an opportunity to join the 200 Club and learn more about our mission of helping the families of those who care for us by putting their lives and safety on the line every day.
The Savannah Mile is the perfect way to directly support the families of those who risk it all, while enjoying time with friends and family in the unique Savanah environment. 100% of proceeds from the race will go to assist the 200 Club in fulfilling its mission to assist families of first responders who die or suffer critical injuries in the line of duty.
All heats are timed, with the exception of the Memory Walk for the families of fallen first responders.
