Austin and I started this race back in 2018 in honor of our son, Jacob Austin Ryan, who was stillborn January 23rd, 2018. Since then, we have met so many people and families that have experienced similar losses including our dear friends, Jake and Tera Elledge and Matt and Cassie Barnett. The Elledge family lost their daughter, Lennon Jesse Elledge, on November 9th, 2019 to stillbirth. The Barnett's daughter, Elizabeth “Elle” Jane Barnett, was stillborn on August 28th, 2021. And their son, Paxton "Pax" Brently Barnett, who was also stillborn on March 23rd, 2023.

The loss of our children is an experience we truly wish we didn't share, but having a community of people who understand and want to stand by you as you honor your child's life is something we are so proud to be apart of. We’re not only honoring our babies, Lennon, Pax, Elle, & Jacob, but all babies that left this earth far too soon. The number of families dealing with these types of losses is staggering and, sadly, mostly dealt with in silence. We have found that there were hundreds of people within our own community that were honored to be able to walk or run for their babies, and for those close to them.

We will be using Tatur Racing again to provide chip timing on a USATF-certified 5K course at Case Community Park. Tatur is a Tulsa-based company and we are very excited to experience their expertise once again. In addition to timing service, this year’s race will also feature a 1-mile Fun Run for participants of all ages!
