Celebrate your weekend with a run that embodies the spirit of community, freedom, and the ability to chase our dreams! Join us for San Antonio's 2nd Annual Chasing Dream's 6.2 Mile, 10K or 3.1 Mile, 5K Race benefiting Running Down a Dream through a festive and inspiring event that brings together runners, walkers, and dreamers of all levels to honor the values that unite us for a morning of miles, music, food, and fun.
Hosted by the Dreamers Run Club and Running Down a Dream, this race is more than just a run—it’s a celebration of perseverance, connection, and the power of community.
Race Details:
- Distances: 3.1 miles (5K) or 6.2 miles (10K)
- Date: July 18, 2026
- Location: Martin Luther King Park in San Antonio, TX
- Highlights:
- Pre-race festivities with live music and local vendors
- Race swag, including a custom race shirt and finisher medal
- Post-race celebration with food trucks, prizes, and family-friendly fun
Water Stop Location: Between mile 1.25-1.5 (for 5K & 10K) and between mile 4.3-4.6 (10K only)

** Weather Policy – Chasing Dreams 5K & 10K**
The Chasing Dreams 5K & 10K is a rain-or-shine event! That means the race will proceed as scheduled whether it’s dry or raining.
However, participant safety is our top priority. In the event of lightning or thunder, we will delay the start of the race. The event may be postponed 30 minutes, up to a total of 1 hour, from the most recent occurrence of lightning or thunder to ensure conditions are safe. We will continue to monitor weather conditions closely on race day and will communicate any delays or changes onsite and via social media.

About This Sport
Endurance Grid is here to help you understand the sport, decide if it's the right fit, and learn how to prepare. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer's event page.
The 10K is the distance where running stops feeling like a starting point and starts feeling like a sport. Long enough to require a real training block. Short enough that race day is fully manageable for a first-timer who's put in the work.
Race day energy at a 10K is community at its best — strangers cheering you by name, people moving toward the same goal, an atmosphere that solo training can't replicate. It's fast enough that you'll spend the whole race pushing rather than managing your effort.
This is also the distance that builds the base for everything else. Most athletes who go on to run half marathons, do triathlons, or compete in HYROX started here. What you need: running shoes fitted to your stride, a training plan, and the race on your calendar. The registration is what makes the deadline real.
How long to train: 4–8 weeks for most fitness levels.
From 5K to marathon, running races are the most accessible entry point into endurance sport. There's a distance for every fitness level and a community at every start line.
