From the Organizer
Haley's Heroes Foundation presents the 7th Annual RUN/Walk FOR THE RARE, a 10k, 5k, and 1-mile run/walk to support International Batten Disease Awareness Day. Did you know that Rare is everywhere? Join us as we run on Sunday, June 14, 2026. 1 in 10 people have a rare disease, and 50% of those are children. There are more than 7,000 known rare diseases, and an estimated 350 million people globally are diagnosed with a rare disease. YET, 95% of all rare diseases don't have an FDA-approved treatment or cure. Let's run (or walk) to change the course of the lives of all those with rare diseases. Post pictures at #RUNWALKFORTHERARE!
The race will start and finish outside of the Pavilion in the North Meadow. The starting time is 10 am, and all participants should be finished by 1 pm.
Cost is $45 for adults and $35 for children.
Registration fee includes: a food coupon for corndogs and ice cream, a photo booth, and a t-shirt
June 13 - Early packet pick-up is 2 pm-4 pm at Gallagher's Fitness | 135 Commercial St NE, Salem, OR 97301
June 14 - Packet pick up begins at 9 am at the run
Be a hero from wherever you are—run/walk in place, in your neighborhood, on your favorite trail, or even on your treadmill. Every step helps us move closer to a cure.
Register to join the movement as a virtual participant. Your $45 donation includes an official event t-shirt (shipped right to you!) so you can show your support wherever you are.
Move with purpose. Make an impact. Be a Haley’s Hero.
Don’t forget to share your journey—post a selfie and tag it with #RUNFORTHERARE so we can celebrate with you!
