Join us for the 15th annual running of this unique and popular 5K/10K race on July 11, 2026! This stroller-friendly event takes runners on a scenic course through the open green spaces and forested paths along the Tualatin River in Tigard's Cook Park and neighboring areas, offering a fun and memorable experience for all participants.

Perks for Participants:
All 5K and 10K finishers will receive a shirt, medal and a race packet filled with goodies to celebrate their accomplishment.

Can’t join us in person?
No problem! Sign up for the virtual race and run your own 5K or 10K course—anywhere, anytime. As a virtual participant, you’ll receive a race bib, a shirt, and a medal to commemorate your achievement. Want to run with friends? Organize a group virtual run, and we’ll promote it on our website so others can join you!

Race Day Details:
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, the start line will remain open for 15 minutes, allowing for a staggered start and plenty of space.

Why We Run:
The best part? Proceeds from this event benefit the Ladybug CDH Foundation, whose mission is to: Raise public awareness about Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), a potentially life-threatening birth defect affecting 1 in 2,500 children annually.
Fund critical medical research.
Provide direct support to families in the Pacific Northwest facing the challenges of CDH.

Survivor/Angel Signs:
We line the sidewalks at Cook Family Park with signs remembering and honoring Angels and Survivors. If you have a CDH Angel or Survivor you would like represented with a sign, please contact us at ladybugcdh@gmail.com. Send us a few sentences about their story and 2-3 photos. We'd love to be able to honor your CDH warrior.

Don’t wait—register today to lace up your shoes, make a difference, and help us support families impacted by CDH. Together, we can bring hope and make strides for this important cause.

About This Sport

From Endurance Grid's Founder

Endurance Grid is here to help you understand the sport, decide if it's the right fit, and learn how to prepare. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer's event page.

The 10K is the distance where running stops feeling like a starting point and starts feeling like a sport. Long enough to require a real training block. Short enough that race day is fully manageable for a first-timer who's put in the work.

Race day energy at a 10K is community at its best — strangers cheering you by name, people moving toward the same goal, an atmosphere that solo training can't replicate. It's fast enough that you'll spend the whole race pushing rather than managing your effort.

This is also the distance that builds the base for everything else. Most athletes who go on to run half marathons, do triathlons, or compete in HYROX started here. What you need: running shoes fitted to your stride, a training plan, and the race on your calendar. The registration is what makes the deadline real.

How long to train: 4–8 weeks for most fitness levels.

Running

From 5K to marathon, running races are the most accessible entry point into endurance sport. There's a distance for every fitness level and a community at every start line.
