Join Big Island Road Runners on Saturday June 13, 2026 starting at 7:00 am for the Holo Kahakai Fun Run.

We will mark out 3 distances- 5k, 10k and ½ marathon. This event starts at the ocean front Kahakai Park in Pahoa. You will run/walk through the dappled sunlight under the canopy of old growth mango and lauhala trees along scenic Old Govt Beach Rd! Those running the ½ marathon will run to HWY 132 then up the Hwy about 1 mile before turning around and coming back the same way.

Meet at Kahakai Park in Pahoa – Run starts at 7:00 AM sharp. Event ends at 10:30 AM.

Directions: From HWY 130 take Kahakai Blvd which is just past the Pahoa Roundabout. Follow to the very end where you will run into the park.

Self-serve Aid Stations will be provided but bring your own hydration in case it is hot😊

Water and Snacks at the end

Free to BIRR members, $10 donation for non-members.

If you are a BIRR Member the $10 donation will be dropped from your registration.

How long to train: 10–14 weeks. If you're already running consistently, 10 weeks of structured buildup is enough. If you're building from a casual base, give yourself 14.
