Central Florida's only MLK Day Race!
Lace up your running shoes and join us for Central Florida's only MLK Day race -Chasing the Dream 5k! This isn't just any race; it's a journey towards making a difference. This event promises to be not just a run, but an experience to remember!
Every stride you take helps support the amazing work at New Image Youth Center, with all proceeds directly benefiting their programs. It's your chance to run for a cause and be a part of something bigger!

Whether you're a seasoned runner or lacing up for the first time, your participation means the world to us and to the countless lives that New Image Youth Center touches. Let's chase the dream together on MLK Day!
Proceeds from this event will benefit the New Image Youth Center. They are an after-school and summer program for at-risk youth, helping students in a high-needs neighborhood obtain a "New Image" through positive and motivating learning experiences, character building, and the promotion of education and fun.
We will also be accepting food donations for the students of New Image Youth Center! Please bring individually wrapped snacks, fruit, and microwavable meals, such as chips, crackers, fruit cups, mac & cheese cups, fruit, ramen noodles, etc.
Awards
We will be giving awards to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place men and women in each age group category. Age groups are below.
10-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79
There will also be awards given to the top three men and women overall.
Race Day Schedule
6:30 a.m.- Registration/Packet Pick-up Opens
7:20 a.m.- Pre-race Warm-up
7:30 a.m.- Race Start Time
8:45 a.m.- Awards Ceremony
Parking
There is parking at the park on General Rees Avenue and on the surrounding streets. We encourage you to carpool and arrive early.
