Join us for the Newtown Savings Bank Mile Down the Pike, a one mile road race. The route proceeds down Monroe Turnpike along the Monroe Memorial Day parade route AFTER the roads close, but before the parade begins. A swift mile downhill, this event is on the same route as the Monroe Memorial Day parade. Enjoy a quick mile race starting at Firemen's Field and ending at Elm Street and Cross Hill intersection. Be cheered on as the crowds gather for the parade. Don't miss this fun event! You should be able to do a mile in 15 minutes or less to sign up for this race. THIS IS A TIMED ROAD RACE.
Race will be held rain or shine. In the event the parade is cancelled, the race will be moved to an alternate location. In the event of severe weather the race will be cancelled. No refunds will be issued in the event of cancellation or change in location. Any changes based on inclement weather will be made by 10:15am on race day and communicated via email and social media to all registered participants.
T shirts guaranteed to the first 140 registrants*. Age group prizes will be awarded along with 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers.
*T Shirts will not be available for those who register after May 21.

Sunday, May 24: 11am - Race Check In Begins
Park and Check In at Monroe's Firemen's Field (706 Monroe Turnpike, enter from Route 110)
Race Day Registration Available via mobile device with credit card ONLY
12:15 - Race Checkin Closes, Walk to Start Line
12:30 - Race Begins
12:35 - Refreshments Available at Finish Line (450 Monroe Turnpike)
12:55 - Grab and Go Age Group Awards at Finish Line
1:00 - Monroe's Memorial Day Parade Begins
