From the Organizer
The Great Mamba Hike is more than just a walk through the park — it’s a fully supported endurance adventure through the heart of Shelby Farms Park designed to challenge your body, test your mindset, and show you exactly what you’re capable of. Whether you’re taking on your first 10-mile hike or pushing yourself all the way to a full marathon distance, this event is built for everyone from beginners to seasoned endurance athletes.
Participants can choose from three distances:
• 10-Mile Hike
• 20-Mile Hike
• 26.2-Mile Marathon Hike
All distances will start and finish from the Beaver Lake Pavilion inside Shelby Farms Park, creating an exciting event atmosphere surrounded by lakes, forests, trails, and fellow hikers all working toward the same goal — finishing what they started.
This is an untimed endurance hike focused on the experience, the challenge, and the accomplishment rather than speed. Participants will have generous cutoff times to complete their journey:
• 10-Mile Hike — 9.5 Hour Cutoff
• 20-Mile Hike — 10 Hour Cutoff
• 26.2-Mile Marathon Hike — 10 Hour Cutoff
Along the course, hikers will be supported with aid stations stocked with water, electrolytes, trail snacks, and select food options to help keep you fueled from start to finish. Volunteers and course support staff will be there throughout the day encouraging participants every step of the way.
Every participant will receive:
• Premium Long Sleeve Performance Brand Shirt
• Custom Finisher Medal Specific to Your Distance
• Fully Supported Aid Stations
• Scenic Shelby Farms Park Course Experience
• An Unforgettable Endurance Challenge
Whether you choose 10 miles, 20 miles, or the full 26.2-mile marathon hike, The Great Mamba Hike is your chance to step outside your comfort zone, embrace the challenge, and accomplish something most people never attempt. One park. One day. One incredible journey.
