The Annual Mullet Festival is the largest fundraising event of the year for the Optimist Club of Perdido Bay (Lillian, Alabama). The race starts at 7:30 a.m. and this year will be held in-person. We will start and finish at the Lillian Recreation Park. The race distance has been certified. The cost of participating includes a race tee shirt, water on the course and a post-event refreshment area (beer included). Same day race registration is available up to race time. Advance registration, before August 25th is $30 and August 25th through the day of the race registration is $35. Those runners registering prior to August 25th at noon will be guaranteed a race tee-shirt on race day. Those registering after the pre-registration cut-off or later will receive their tee shirt in the mail.
Awards will be provided for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Men & Women overall, plus 1st top man and woman masters 40+; grand masters 50+ and senior grand masters 60+. The event will also award the top male and top female finisher overall, plus 1st, 2nd and 3rd finishers 9 & under; 10 - 14; 15 - 19; 20 - 24; 25 - 29; 30 - 34; 35 - 39; 40 - 44; 45 - 49; 50 - 54; 55 - 59; 60 - 64; 65 - 69; 70 - 74; 75 - 79; 80 & over. Awards will also be provided for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Men & Women 5K Wheelchair finishers.
The 5K Walker awards will be provided for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place men and women finishers, plus the top three men and women in each age group: 12 & under; 13 - 20; 21 - 34; 35 - 49; 50-64 and 65 & above.
The course is a rolling, rural (paved & dirt) roads in Lillian, Alabama. The race will have aid EMT truck. Breakfast and lunch are available for purchase on-site at the event.
