From the Organizer
Join us as we bring back a cherished Issaquah tradition! The Issaquah Rotary Club’s Run With the Fishes is back—featuring a 5K, 10K, and a 1K Kids’ Fun Run—and we can’t wait to run, cheer, and celebrate with you once again.
For more than 30 years, the Rotary Run was a beloved part of Salmon Days, bringing runners of all ages through the heart of Issaquah as we celebrate the Fall return of the salmon to the Issaquah Creek. After a hiatus since 2019, we were thrilled to announce the return of the race in 2025—with a brand new location and brand new course that follows the Lake Sammamish State Park waterfront and parallels the Issaquah Creek so our participants can literally “Run With The Fishes” as they return to their spawning grounds every Fall. As an added benefit this year, we are bringing back the Rotary Club’s iconic long sleeved event running shirt to go along with this Fall classic event.

The racecourse (Link to map) begins inside the park, winding along the scenic shores of Lake Sammamish. Runners will enjoy a one-mile stretch along SE 56th Street, passing the soccer fields and Costco before crossing the Issaquah Creek bridge—wave to the salmon as you go! After a sharp turn back into the park, the final mile follows a picturesque dirt trail along Issaquah Creek. Runners will cross the creek twice—so be sure to wave to the fish both times as they make their way upstream! 10K participants will complete a second loop, while 5K runners will finish after one lap.
The 1K Kids’ Fun Run, proudly sponsored by Arbor Montessori School, will begin approximately 60 minutes after the main race start.
