Please join us for the second annual First Solar HEROES 5k! We are thrilled to announce that we are partnering with the US Space & Rocket Center to host this memorable event. Come out and experience this awesome course that runs around the Pathfinder Shuttle and Saturn V Rocket!
This event will include a 5k race (3.1-mi) and 5k ruck. Both the 5k run and 5k ruck will have firm start and end times of 07:30 am - 08:45 am. The course that will be used is a USATF certified road course. 5k Ruck Divisions: Male ruck will be set to 30 lbs.; Female ruck will be set to 20 lbs. Participants must bring their own ruck with the dry weight(before adding consumables) meeting the weight requirement. Rucks will be weighed before the event begins.

This event is open to everyone!
Registration & Deadlines:
Registration will be open until 7am on 11/07/2026. Deadline to guarantee runners packet is 10/19/2026. After this date, registrants will only be guaranteed a runners bib for chip timing - runners packet & t-shirts will be given out while supplies last.
Parking & Logistics:
Parking will be in the lot in front of The Davidson Center for Space Exploration.
Volunteer Opportunities:

HEROES is a Military Associate Resource Group that offers associates easy access to valuable resources, information and support. It fosters inclusivity, supports professional development, and helps to strengthen the community throughout the First Solar organization.
Mission Statement
HEROES @ First Solar, a Military Employee Resource Group (MERG) will provide a safe and inclusive space for the proud community of active military, veterans, and those who support military personnel (family, friends, colleagues). We will build camaraderie with each other through shared experiences, veteran recruitment, community engagement, professional growth, and retention.
