Cookie Fix Cookie Crusher HSV5K/10K– A Sweet Race for a Magical Cause!

The Cookie Fix Cookie Crusher HSV5K/10K is returning to Huntsville for it's second annual race, hosted by the Alabama Race Series, the team behind BHM26.2! Presented by Cookie Fix, this deliciously fun race takes place at Back Forty and John Hunt Park in Huntsville on Saturday, May 16th!

This event isn’t just about crushing miles, it’s about making life sweeter for children in Alabama. ALL proceeds benefit Magic Moments, the only wish-granting organization dedicated exclusively to children in Alabama facing chronic life-threatening or acute life-altering conditions.

This extra sweet event has something for everyone with three exciting race options: a fun, flat and fast 5K, our brand-new 10K for those ready to go the extra miles, and the exciting Kid’s 200-Yard Dash for our youngest runners.

The 5K is perfect for runners and walkers alike, while the new 10K offers a longer challenge for seasoned racers looking to test their endurance. Little athletes won’t want to miss the Kid’s 200-Yard Dash, a short, high-energy sprint that lets kids of all ages experience the thrill of race day.

*Registration is required for ALL distances—sign up today to secure your spot! All participants will receive a shirt, medal, and a special treat at the finish line.

Following the race, participants and their families can enjoy a family friendly After Party at Back Forty, open to the public. More details coming soon!

About This Sport

From Endurance Grid's Founder

Endurance Grid is here to help you understand the sport, decide if it's the right fit, and learn how to prepare. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer's event page.

The 10K is the distance where running stops feeling like a starting point and starts feeling like a sport. Long enough to require a real training block. Short enough that race day is fully manageable for a first-timer who's put in the work.

Race day energy at a 10K is community at its best — strangers cheering you by name, people moving toward the same goal, an atmosphere that solo training can't replicate. It's fast enough that you'll spend the whole race pushing rather than managing your effort.

This is also the distance that builds the base for everything else. Most athletes who go on to run half marathons, do triathlons, or compete in HYROX started here. What you need: running shoes fitted to your stride, a training plan, and the race on your calendar. The registration is what makes the deadline real.

How long to train: 4–8 weeks for most fitness levels.

Running

From 5K to marathon, running races are the most accessible entry point into endurance sport. There's a distance for every fitness level and a community at every start line.
