From the Organizer
Are you ready to set a state record? We invite you to join us at the fastest race in Alabama that benefits a great cause, Maranathan Academy. The Speed Stampede is a certified two mile race hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Homewood - Mountain Brook.
This race takes place on Reese Street near The Grocery Brew Pub. The course consists of two loops of a one mile certified course (AL21034JE) that will be professionally timed. Prizes to the top male and female overall runners and 10 year age group categories.
Our charitable partner for the Speed Stampede is the Maranathan Family Learning Center & Academy. Maranathan is the best kept secret in Birmingham.
Maranathan Family Learning Center & Academy, Inc. is a privately funded, non-profit, 501(c)(3) all scholarship school and learning center. It was founded in 1991 for the express purpose of providing a safe haven and second chance to critically at-risk youth and adults. The primary goal of Maranathan Academy is to break the cycle of government dependency that has plagued critically at-risk youth and their families for generations.
Maranathan Academy has graduated over 300 critically at-risk youth and adults, making it possible for them to become successes instead of statistics. By working with the families of our students as well, Maranathan has positively impacted over 1,500 individuals.
Come out and join the Stampede for speedy fun for all ages.
