Free introductory track and field meet for boys and girls ages 9, 10 and 11. Starts at 6:00 pm. Events include:

  • 100m
  • 200m
  • 400m
  • long jump
  • softball throw

The HEAT Meet provides kids a fun, initial exposure to track and field competition. The Meet is structured to generate interest and excitement, with kids competing against their own age and gender.

Online registration ends May 27 at 11:59 pm.

FAQs:

  • What time should my child be at Vigilante Stadium on May 28, 2026?  If your child is pre-registered, arriving by 5:20 should give them plenty of time to check in, grab some swag, and find their group for warmups.  If they are signing up on the day of, please allow extra time.  Our team will be setting up at 5:00 that evening.  Our registration table should be ready for business shortly after that time.
  • Does the event take place if it is raining? It does!  Please plan to dress accordingly for whatever weather Montana spring can bring.
  • Does my child need to sign up for each individual event?  No.  The participants are automatically signed up for all five events offered during the meet.
  • Does my child need to participate in all five events offered at the meet?  No.  But we do encourage them to try them all if they are physically able. 
  • Are there concessions available at the HEAT Meet? No. However, we will provide water for the athletes.
  • Can I be on the field with my child(ren) during the meet? No.  We will need all spectators to stay off the infield and track during the meet. Please plan on enjoying the fun from the stands.
