Welcome to MEGAMILES! We are a coached run group that aims to: get rid of elitism, intentionally and authentically create community, and make room for all paces and people. Whether you are a first-year runner or an experienced marathoner- we have groups for you!
About me:
My name is Meg Anderson. I am 34 years old and am so excited to give you MEGAMILES! I am from Gulfport, MS, lived in Jackson, MS for 9 years, packed everything I owned in 2 suitcases, bought a 1-way plane ticket, and relocated to Arequipa, Peru for almost 5 years. After living my best life abroad, I have decided to make my home in Hattiesburg, MS. I am passionate about mental health, am a diehard Swiftie, and am into all thing's coffee. I have my undergrad degree in Music/TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and am finishing my MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching).
I started running in January 2013 because my friend and I decided to do a SuperSprint triathlon. After completing the SuperSprint triathlon, I quickly jumped into endurance sports and completed my first full marathon one year after starting running.
My coaching style:
I strive to push the limit of ‘I can’t’, to become ‘I will’. I believe able-bodied people are capable of running as far as their heart and mind desire. With MEGAMILES, running will be less of an ‘I have to run’ statement, but instead will become an ‘I get to run’ or an ‘I will run’ statement. I am here to provide you with the mentality shift needed to accomplish your big, scary goals. The question I’m often asked is ‘how do you run so far?’ The answer is simple: I want to, believe I can, and I enjoy the journey to get there. My goal for you is the same: to want it, to believe you can, and to enjoy the journey getting there.

Program Details:
This is MEGAMILES’ first year running. We have a few different options for wherever you are in training. The summer runs are mostly for consistency for you. The half marathon group is perfect for someone wanting to either tackle their first 13.1 or wanting to get faster. The full group is perfect for either anyone wanting to cross marathon off their bucket list, as EWM is a generous cut-off or wanting to PR because of the flat course. While the half group has 2 runs and the full group has 3 runs, once the full group starts, the half group is more than welcome to come on out to Thames to join the fun!
