The Pioneer Days Festival, along with the Harrodsburg Lions Club, have again partnered together for this year's Lions Club - Pioneer Days 5K. This event is part of the Harrodsburg Pioneer Days Festival of Events. The course has been modified to take out the hill that was present at the previous races.
Packet pickup and day of registration will begin no later than 7:00 a.m. at the Athletic Complex. This 5K event will start at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, August 15th on the Athletic Track behind the Athletic Complex at the Campbellsville University / Harrodsburg site. The course will take the participants from the Athletic Track, up past the Chiropractic School Facility, circle around the Conover Education Center, head them back - past the Chiropractic School Facility and Athletic Complex, up Legion Drive turning left onto Henrico Road, followed by a direct left circling through a subdivision and heading back up Henrico Road and down Legion Drive to the finish at the Athletic Track (where it all started).
All proceeds from this event will be utilized to fund the purchase of eyeglasses for those in need, Lions Club Scholarships, and other local projects supported by the Harrodsburg Lions Club
Medals for the 5K event will be awarded for the overall top three male and female finishers. Medals will also be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the following ten age categories: < 10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, >80 .
