Ride Information

The Historic Marbold Farmstead Association (HMFA) in Greenview, IL is excited to host its 3rd annual Tour de Heartland bike ride fundraiser—a celebration of fitness, fun, and community spirit in support of one of Menard County’s most treasured historic sites.

This year, riders can choose from three scenic routes, all starting and ending at the Historic Marbold Farmstead. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist seeking a challenge or a casual rider looking for a beautiful day in the countryside, there’s a route designed for every level.

HMFA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the Marbold Farmstead, a once‑thriving agricultural estate that remains a vital piece of our region’s living history. Through tours, events, and educational programs, the Farmstead continues to unite the community and share the story of its rich heritage.

We invite families, friends, cycling enthusiasts, and supporters of local history to strap on a helmet, enjoy the beauty of the Heartland, and help sustain the preservation of this extraordinary landmark.

2026 Route Options

Participants can choose between three scenic routes:

  1. 11-Mile Ride: Perfect for casual riders and families, this route guides participants through the picturesque countryside surrounding Greenview. With gentle terrain and beautiful rural views, it offers an enjoyable and accessible experience for riders of all ages.
11 Mi Tour de Heartland Route
  2. 17-Mile Ride: Ideal for riders looking to stretch their distance, this 17‑mile route offers a slightly more challenging experience than the casual family ride. Participants will enjoy the same picturesque rural scenery surrounding Greenview, with a longer course that provides a rewarding sense of accomplishment while still remaining accessible for most recreational cyclists.
17 Mi Tour de Heartland Route
  3. 50-Mile Ride: Designed for adventurous cyclists, this 50‑mile route begins and ends at the Historic Marbold Farmstead and offers a rewarding challenge through the rolling rural landscape of Menard County. Riders will encounter a few hills that require some climbing, but the route is otherwise comfortably paced with long stretches of scenic countryside.
50 Mi Tour de Heartland Route

All routes begin and end at the Historic Marbold Farmstead, which offers convenient on‑site restroom facilities. Water stations will be available along the courses to keep riders refreshed throughout their ride.
