18th Annual Eureka Schools Foundation Granite Bay 5K
Run for Our Schools. Run for Our Community.
Join us for an electric morning of fitness and fun on Sunday, September 13th, 2026! With over 1,000 participants cheering and running together, this is Granite Bay’s premier community event. Whether you're chasing a personal best in the 10K or enjoying a stroll with the family in the 5K, every step you take supports the Eureka Schools Foundation (ESF).

Stick around after your race to explore our Sponsor Zone, featuring local vendors, games, face painting, balloon twisting, and live music from the local favorite band, MalPractice_916!

The Race Day Experience
Star Power: Warm-ups led by Olympic Gold Medalist Lashawn Merritt and Drew Nelson from Mind Over Matter.

Schedule & Logistics
Bib Pickup (Highly Recommended)

Saturday, Sept 12th (9 AM – 3 PM): Holt Ortho, 9233 Sierra College Blvd. #150, Roseville.
You may pick up bibs for friends and family!
Sunday, Sept 13th (7 AM – 8 AM): Limited morning-of pickup at Granite Bay High School.
Race Day Schedule (Sept 13th)

8:15 AM: Warm-ups begin
8:30 AM: 10K & 5K Start (Chip Timed)
10:00 AM: ¼ Mile (Ages 7 & Under)
10:15 AM: ¼ Mile (Ages 8–10)
10:30 AM: Awards Ceremony
Parking & Safety

Parking is available at Granite Bay High School. Please note that roads are not closed; participants must obey pedestrian laws and stay to the shoulder. 10K runners will complete two laps of the course. Strollers are welcome but are asked to start at the back for safety.

The 10K is the distance where running stops feeling like a starting point and starts feeling like a sport. Long enough to require a real training block. Short enough that race day is fully manageable for a first-timer who's put in the work.

Race day energy at a 10K is community at its best — strangers cheering you by name, people moving toward the same goal, an atmosphere that solo training can't replicate. It's fast enough that you'll spend the whole race pushing rather than managing your effort.

This is also the distance that builds the base for everything else. Most athletes who go on to run half marathons, do triathlons, or compete in HYROX started here. What you need: running shoes fitted to your stride, a training plan, and the race on your calendar. The registration is what makes the deadline real.

How long to train: 4–8 weeks for most fitness levels.
