THE GIBSONBURG BEER MILE

What is The Gibsonburg Beer Mile?
At the start of each wave, each participant drinks four beers, and runs/walks four laps of the quarter mile loop to run a total of 1 mile. In other words: Four Laps. Four Beers. One Mile. Drink a beer, run a quarter mile, repeat.
- Participants must drink beer within the 10-meter drinking zone located just before the start/finish line.
- Beer will be consumed from cans provided by The Gibsonburg Beer Mile and may not be opened in advance.
- Beer containers cannot be tampered with in any manner. All participants will drink the same brand of beer.
- Empty beers must be tipped over participants head before next lap can be attempted.
- You must be 21 years of age to participate. No exceptions! Valid state issued ID will be checked at check in!
Beer Mile Heats: The event will be run in “Heats.”
Heat 1- 2:00pm “Elite (aka: We can drink fast and run fast)”
Heat 2- 2:20pm “Recreational (aka: We’re really not sure about this)”
Heat 3- 2:40pm “Walkers (aka: It’s a nice day to drink some beer and take a stroll)”
Entry: Online entry at Runsignup.com until June 21st is highly encouraged. There will be limited race day entry! You must be 21 years of age to participate! Valid state issued ID will be required and checked on race day!
Entry Fee: $30.00 per participant and includes: Gibsonburg Beer Mile Shirt, Finisher’s Award, the glory and the honor and of course the required beer for the Beer Mile.
Packet Pickup: Packet Pickup will start on Race Day at the Beer Tent at 12:00pm
Awards: Everyone will receive a Finisher’s Award and the fastest Male and Female will also receive special awards for their efforts.
Event is held rain or shine and no registration refunds will be offered. Event is a part of the Gibsonburg Homecoming Festival. Proceeds from The Gibsonburg Beer Mile support the Gibsonburg Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department.
