From the Organizer
The Cedar Run Track Club is a USATF youth track program for K-12 student athletes. Our goal is to build a love for the sport of track and field while developing the fundamentals of each discipline. Headed by the coaches of the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 6A Cedar Run District and their former student athletes who now participate at the collegiate level, participants will receive instruction from some of our state's most successful high school coaches and collegiate athletes.
Through the six-week summer season, those in grades K-5 will be introduced to all disciplines and receive age-appropriate training. Those in grades 6-12 will receive discipline-specific training (sprints/hurdles, distance, jumps, throws) and develop specific form, strength, and technique as they prepare for the upcoming competition year. All registrants will receive racing singlet and be entered in four fully automated timing (FAT) meets to track their progress and engage in spirited competition in specific track and field events of their choosing.
