Join us for an unforgettable experience at the Wolf Creek Trails in Fayetteville, WV, with the Howlin' Trails 5K and 10K Run, proudly hosted by Active SWV Races!  This event is the perfect opportunity for individuals to compete but also for workplaces and business teams to come together, promote wellness, and foster team spirit in a fun and competitive environment. Whether you're a seasoned runner or a first-time participant, the Howlin’ Trails offers something for everyone. 

Both the 5K (Run or Walk) and 10K (Run Only) events start and finish at Bridge Brew Works, offering participants a scenic and adventurous course through rolling trails and lush woodlands. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Fayetteville then enjoy the camaraderie of your coworkers and the community at Bridge Brew Works post-race. 

Date: June 5th (Last day to register online: June 2nd) 
Parking/Race Start & Finish: Bridge Brew Works - 335 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840.  
Trail Location: Wolf Creek Trails, Fayetteville, WV  
Packet Pick-up: Runners will be able to pick up their packet with their bib number starting at 4:30 pm race day at Bridge Brew Works. Day of registration will also be available at this time. 

Race Start Times: 

  • 10K  6:00 pm
  • 5K: 6:15 PM

  • After registration racers will receive additional information regarding parking and safety briefing.
  • Participants ages 12 and under can join the 5K for a discounted price. 
  • Giveaway Item: Commemorative t-shirt for all participants. 
    • Active SWV Shop has Howlin' Trails shirts, hoodies, and performance wear stocked if you'd like some additional merch!

The 10K is the distance where running stops feeling like a starting point and starts feeling like a sport. Long enough to require a real training block. Short enough that race day is fully manageable for a first-timer who's put in the work.

Race day energy at a 10K is community at its best — strangers cheering you by name, people moving toward the same goal, an atmosphere that solo training can't replicate. It's fast enough that you'll spend the whole race pushing rather than managing your effort.

What you need: running shoes fitted to your stride, a training plan, and the race on your calendar. The registration is what makes the deadline real.
