About the Ugly Sweater 5K and Merry Mile

• Break out those ugly sweaters and join us on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 9 a.m. for a holiday hustle down U.S. Route 1 in Falmouth. We feature both a 5K and a 1-mile fun run, so there is something for everyone! The Ugly Sweater 5K & Merry Mile are part of the Very Merry Falmouth weekend celebration with many events on Friday and Saturday. All proceeds from the Ugly Sweater & Merry Mile benefit the Falmouth Memorial Library, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
• The venue is located at the American Legion on Depot Road across the street from Falmouth Memorial Library. The start and the finish line are on Depot Road in front of the American Legion.
• Bib pick-up and race day registration are in the tent next to the American Legion.
• Refreshments will be available to runners and walkers after the event.
• Parking will be available in the local area, including next to the baseball fields, with limited parking at the American Legion and Falmouth Memorial Library.
• Directions – Depot Road intersects with U.S. Route 1. The closest exit off Route 295 is Exit 10.
• We will vote on the "ugliest" and "most original" outfits and have a free raffle and refreshments after the race!
Ugly Sweater 5K starts at 9 a.m.
• Registration fee is $30. This is an event for runners, and we suggest that walkers participate in the Merry Mile. For safety reasons, Falmouth Police will not allow runners to push strollers in the 5K race in the street. Participants with strollers are welcome to join the Merry Mile, which is on the pedestrian way.
• Course – Depot Road to Route 1. Right on Route 1 south to Route 88. North to Old Mill, turn right, left on to Edgewater, right on to Anderson, left on to Ridgeway, left onto Route 88, right onto Depot. The start and the finish line is on Depot Road in front of the parking lot of the American Legion.
• Awards – First place male, female and nonbinary runners will receive a medal, and first place finishers of each 10-year age group will receive a medal.
• Family discount – Families of 3 or more people will receive a $5 discount per participant.
Merry Mile - starts at 9:05 a.m.
• Registration fee is $15. This is an event for walkers, and we suggest that runners participate in the 5K. This event is not timed.
• Course is Depot Road to U.S. Route 1, turn right on the U.S. Route 1 sidewalk to retrace your steps to the finish line.
