From the Organizer
The Arc of Northern Virginia’s Corporate and Community Team Challenge brings together companies and community to raise important funds to sustain and strengthen its vital programs, services, and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are happy that this year, the premier corporate challenge foot race and the area’s only team-based race with teams of 5-7 runners will held in person on Saturday, June 7 at Burke Lake Park. More details below!
About the 5k Race
For 46 years, this has been Northern Virginia’s premier corporate and community challenge foot race and the area’s only team based race with teams of 5-7 runners. The 5k Course starts at Shelter C at Burke Lake Park (7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA) and continues out and back, to return to Shelter C. The course is partially paved and partially on the dirt path (watch for some rocks and roots!) over mildly rolling terrain. The race ends at Shelter C for post-race festivities including food, music, and an awards ceremony.
TIMING: This race is chip timed by NoVA Race Timing www.novaracetiming.com. Race results will be posted on their website.
Running Teams consist of 5-7 team members for the Team Challenge 5k Course. The competition is scored by finish order of runners, not by individual times. Team Categories include:
• Corporate Coed – (Note: requires at least 2 female team members.)
• Corporate All Male
• Corporate All Female
• Community Open
