From the Organizer
Join us for the T1D Summer Kickoff 5K at 9 am on May 16th, 2026, at Fleet Feet Durham- Ninth Street! This will be a fun run around downtown Durham, and we will have a raffle afterwards with swag bags from some of your favorite brands like Adidas, On Cloud, ASICS, and more!
This fun run supports Steven Cannady's journey to Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, MN, where he will run in support of Breakthrough T1D.
Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 13, Steven has turned his diagnosis into motivation, using running to raise awareness, inspire the T1D community, and support Type 1 Diabetes research.
This 5K is more than just a fun run- it's an opportunity to come together, move with purpose, and support the mission to improve lives and find a cure for Type 1.
A large portion of the proceeds from race registration and all the proceeds from the raffle will go towards supporting Stevens' mission. Come join us to run for T1D!
