From the Organizer
On Sunday, June 21, 2026, the community will head to Vista View Park for the Fit to be Tied - Father's Day 5K, a premier event designed to celebrate dads and father figures in a high-energy, family-friendly atmosphere. This isn't just a race; it’s a full-scale celebration where families can bond while enjoying the fresh morning air and the park's scenic views. To ensure every participant feels like a VIP, the event features an incredible race package including a personalized race bib, a high-quality event shirt, and a custom finisher medal to commemorate the achievement.
The excitement continues well after the finish line with activities tailored for all ages. Children can dive into a world of fun at the Kids Zone, featuring creative arts and crafts—like making a custom "designer tie" for Dad—and a variety of carnival games with exciting prizes to be won. For the adults, the celebration includes a dedicated "Dad's Zone" where they can unwind with a cold, refreshing beer and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow participants. From the video game truck to the festive music, every detail is crafted to make this Father’s Day one for the history books.
The excitement doesn't stop at the finish line this year! Introducing the inaugural 2026 Fit to be Tied - Field Day Games, the official post-race celebration for the Fit to be Tied - Father's Day 5K. Designed to keep the energy high and the family bonds even stronger, this competition is open to all 5K participants completely free of charge. Teams consisting of one parent and one child will go head-to-head in a lighthearted yet competitive showdown, testing their coordination, communication, and speed across three classic backyard events.
The games feature a lineup of nostalgia-fueled challenges: the Two-Person Sack Race, where pairs must sync their strides in a single sack; the nerve-wracking Balloon Toss; and the steady-handed Egg-Spoon Carry. As teams navigate each station, they will accumulate points based on their performance. Once the dust settles and the final egg has crossed the line, the points will be tallied, and the top-scoring teams will walk away with a collection of amazing prizes. It’s the perfect way to cap off your Father's Day morning with laughter, a bit of friendly rivalry, and a whole lot of fun!
