Good Day for a Run Returns to Colonial Beach for their 9th Annual COLONIAL BEACH TO BEER 10K/5K Races and 1 Mile Walk. 

This Race Proudly Supports BAMM. 
RACES FEATURE:
  • Scenic 5K and 10K Race along the Potomac of Colonial Beach.
  • Chip-timing, Live-streamed Results, and Awards
  • 5K and 10K Awards are for top 3 Overall and Top 3 per Age Group. 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29,  and every 10 yrs
  • The Course is Flat and Fast! 10K Starts at 9 AM. 5K Starts at 9:05 AM.
  • Walkers and children welcome to participate in the 5K or 1 Mile Walk. Registration required to be on the course for the safety of all participants. 5K Walkers start at 9:05 AM behind the pack of runners. 1 Hour Time Limit for 5K. 
  • 1 Mile Walk option available for all ages and starts at 9:08 AM. (Non-timed) 
RACES INCLUDE:
  • Colonial Beach Brewing & Ice House Brewery will be onsite with local craft beer options available. 
  • High-quality tech shirt included or upgrade to Long Sleeve for $6 extra. Women's, Men's/Unisex, and Youth options. *Please register by Oct. 4 to guarantee your first choice. Many extras ordered and available while supplies last for registrants after Oct. 4. (1 Mile Walkers must register by Oct. 4 to guarantee shirt) 
  • ALL Participants receive a Beach to Beer Custom Beer Glass.

AFTER-PARTY FUN:
  • Live music by Spike Burton Music performing until Noon
  • Enjoy cold Craft Beer at the post race Beer Garden - presented by Colonial Beach Brewing and Ice House Brewery. Non alcohol options available too. 
  • On-Site Food Truck. 
  • Various lawn games for the entire family or for you and your friends
  • Please bring your own beach chairs or blankets to hang out after in the beautiful water-front park!
  • Strollers are permitted. 
  • Race is rain or shine. No refunds or deferrals.
Packet pick-up on race day from 7:30-8:30 AM at "Good Day for a Run" tent at Town Hill. Late arrivals may pick up swag, however, not able to start race after 9:05 AM for the safety of all runners.

The 10K is the distance where running stops feeling like a starting point and starts feeling like a sport. Long enough to require a real training block. Short enough that race day is fully manageable for a first-timer who's put in the work.

Race day energy at a 10K is community at its best — strangers cheering you by name, people moving toward the same goal, an atmosphere that solo training can't replicate. It's fast enough that you'll spend the whole race pushing rather than managing your effort.

This is also the distance that builds the base for everything else. Most athletes who go on to run half marathons, do triathlons, or compete in HYROX started here. What you need: running shoes fitted to your stride, a training plan, and the race on your calendar. The registration is what makes the deadline real.

How long to train: 4–8 weeks for most fitness levels.
