From the Organizer
The Strickland Family is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Leah’s Legacy 5K Run/2 Mile Walk/Kid’s Fun Run on Sunday, Sept 13, 2026, at 5:00 pm. Last year we had over 500 participants and look forward to a bigger/better Celebration in 2026!
The event will start at Charleston City Center (Slack Plaza), proceed towards the boulevard, and end back at Charleston City Center (Slack Plaza). Leah Strickland was active in multiple sports and very competitive with a “team first, ALL IN” attitude. She encouraged her teammates and put the best interests of her team and teammates before her own. On August 31, 2022, a few weeks into her freshman season she lost her life in a car accident while coming home from a soccer game. The Strickland Family chose to honor Leah’s memory, character, and love of athletics by establishing a Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund provides scholarships for Senior Athletes who embody those same characteristics.
