From the Organizer
Michael was tragically killed at age 71, along with his friend Christina Chung, in an accident in July 2024. His grandchildren, children, family, and friends wish to honor his memory with this annual event. Why 5.12 K? In honor of Michael’s birthday, May 12 - and because he revered being a little different with measurements. All proceeds from this memorial event will be donated to the Michael W Leibowitz Family Fund, to support the charitable causes closest to his heart. Through these efforts, Michael’s generous spirit and dedication to helping others will continue to inspire and uplift those in need. An engineer, pilot, avid runner and travel enthusiast, you can learn more about Michael here.
This event is open to people of all levels of athletic ability and will not be timed (Feel free to time yourself with your watch of course).
Due to insurance and liability concerns, we cannot allow dogs on the racecourse.
We hope you'll come out and honor Michael's legacy with us!
