Experience the 15th Annual Canby Dahlia Run—where flower fields, farmlands, and countryside charm guide every step. Whether you’re chasing a personal record or enjoying a brisk walk, this is a race like no other.

Organized by the Canby Area Chamber of Commerce, this event drew over 500 participants in 2025—and we’re aiming to sell out again in 2026!


Race Overview


Distances:

+ 5K and 10K run/walk

Course:

+ Start and finish at Swan Island Dahlias
+ Mostly paved roads with a short gravel stretch;  5 & 10K includes a small grass segment leading to the finish

Timing:

+ Chip-timed by Athletic Timing
+ UHF coded bib chips
+ Live results available online and at the finish line
 
Registration:

+ INCLUDES: Official Race T-shirt (deadline is 8/28/26), finisher medal, free parking, and entry to the Swan Island Dahlia Festival
+ ADVANCE REGISTRATION: RunSignUp.com
+ RACE-DAY REGISTRATION: Opens 6:00 AM (if not sold out—updates on Facebook)
   Note: Prices increase closer to race day. Early registration is encouraged.

Race Day Schedule:

   6:00 AM – Race-Day Check-in
   7:00 AM – 5K & 10K RUNNERS Start 
   7:05 AM – 5K & 10K WALKERS Start 
   11:00 AM – Course officially closes

Parking:

Free parking at Swan Island Dahlias (grass field) managed by venue staff
Carpooling recommended due to limited space
 
Course Support:

   Medical & Aid Station: CPR/AED & First Aid available at course start/finish. 
   Water Stations: Located along each course—participants should also hydrate before the race
   Restrooms: Portable toilets at start/finish and mid-course
 
Policies & Restrictions:

   Distance Changes: May switch down in distance (no refunds; difference goes to Chamber as donation). No switching up on race day.
   Refunds & Transfers: Non-refundable, but you may transfer your registration to someone else.
   Pets: No dogs or pets on course; none may be left unattended in vehicles or at venue.
   Strollers: Not allowed.
   Wheelchairs/Handcycles/Barefoot: Welcome if terrain (pavement, gravel, grass) is manageable.
   Headphones/Hearing Devices:

  • General Rule: Headphones are permitted but not encouraged; if used, one ear must remain uncovered for safety.
  • Accessibility Exception: Runners who use assistive hearing devices (e.g., AirPods, bone-conduction headphones, or other adaptive technologies) may use them in both ears, provided the transparency/adaptive sound features are enabled to allow awareness of surroundings.
  • Purpose: These guidelines are in place to maintain runner safety and ensure participants can hear course instructions, traffic, volunteers, and other runners.
  • Responsibility: Runners using headphones are responsible for keeping volumes at safe levels and remaining attentive to their environment.


Weather:

This is a Rain or Shine Event—no refunds for weather delays or cancellations.
 
Finish Line & Awards:

All finishers receive:

   + Medal
   + Fresh-cut Dahlia
   + Free entry to the Swan Island Dahlia Festival
   + Top 3 male and female finishers (5K & 10K, chip times) receive awards per age divisions—must be picked up on race day (no mailing).

  • Categories are: 14 & under | 15–19 | 20–29 | 30–39 | 40–49 | 50–59 | 60–69 | 70+
     

After Party:

   + Water and light snacks at finish line
   + Food available for purchase from on-site vendors
   + Explore Canby’s downtown for additional food, drinks, and events (Canby Area Chamber of Commerce Events)
