Since 1921 PILOT INTERNATIONAL has been influencing Positive Change in Communities Throughout the World and the Pilot Club of Brunswick has been doing the same in our local community.
Pilot International and the Brunswick Pilot club are community based volunteer service organizations that places an emphasis on brain safety, awareness, as well as disorders. To do this, we come together in friendship and service, focusing on encouraging brain safety and health while supporting those who care for the brain injured.
Our signature program, BrainMinders, was designed to teach safety features to children to help prevent brain injuries. Puppet shows are presented to preschool and elementary age children with coloring/activity books to be taken home. The project was revamped to include adults in assisted living and those living with care givers.
Our safety helmet project expands this effort by making quality safety helmets in a variety of colors and sizes available free of charge to as many youth as possible. With the help of the Brunswick exchange club, we distribute the helmets with bicycles at Christmas.
We try to uplift and show appreciation to caregivers by providing needed services and gifts to brighten their day --- Pick Me Ups! In this way we hope to promote awareness for the demands and challenges faced everyday by individuals who care for others.
The Pilot Club of Brunswick supports Memory Matters, Memory Walks, HS seniors with scholarships in the medical field, “Pick Me Ups for caregivers, along with many other activities to help those with brain injuries and their caregivers.
