Sri Chinmoy 5K & 7-Mile in Prospect Park

Join us on Sunday, March 14, 2027, for the Sri Chinmoy 5K & 7-Mile race in Prospect Park, featuring a scenic loop course along Park Drive.  9 AM start for both races.

Sponsored by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in cooperation with the Prospect Park Alliance and NYC Parks Dept.

 

AMENITIES:

Bag check, aid stations every mile, vacuum insulated drink bottle, custom finisher medal, free finisher photos, and fresh hot pancakes!

 

THE COURSE:

A scenic loop (with some hills), traveling counterclockwise on the pedestrian lane of the main Park Drive, through forest and meadow. Starting just North of the Lincoln Rd. Lawns, continuing through Battle pass, past Nellie’s Lawn, down Long Meadow, past Lookout Hill, alongside Prospect Park Lake, and finishing at Harry’s Wall. 5K is just short of one complete loop of the park, the 7-Miler is two loops, and includes a short out-and-back section along Center Drive on the second loop.

Men’s and Women’s awards categories, for both 5K & 7-mile races:

Under 50: Top 7
50-59: Top 3
60-69: Top 2
70 and over: First place

Custom medals for all finishers

Awards ceremonies:
5K: 9:50 AM
7-Mile: 10:30AM

 

POST-RACE PANCAKE BREAKFAST!

Hot pancakes are even more enjoyable when they’re earned, and we’re cooking them up fresh for everyone on race day!  Toppings:  REAL maple syrup, whip cream, and more!

 

RACE SHIRTS:

Custom race shirts are available in Unisex sizes X-Small through 2XL. 
Please note: to cut down on waste, we no longer guarantee sizes by over-ordering. Having said that, sizes are guaranteed for runners that select packet shipping, and we also do our best to provide shirts for those picking up on race day.  Typically, more than 90% of runners receive the size they selected.

 

TIME LIMITS:

5K: 1 hour (20 min/mile pace)
7-Mile: 1hr, 45 min (15 min/mile pace)

 

AGE RESTRICTIONS:

5K: 13 & up
7-Mile: 15 & up

No race-day registration.  Entries cannot be transferred to another person.

 

RACE PACKETS

Choose Packet Shipping when registering ($7.45), to avoid the lines on race day and have your race giveaway and bib delivered to your door before the race. Option available to US addresses only, through Mar. 3.  Packets will ship out en masse on Mar. 5.
Otherwise, packet pickup is available at the race site from 7:45-8:45AM.

 

EVENT CANCELLATION POLICY

We live in uncertain times.  If we are forced to cancel this event owing to circumstances beyond our control, including, but not limited to: unsafe conditions in the park, such as excessive snow or ice on the roadways, or other weather related conditions;
the event will be converted to a virtual one.  Registered participants will still receive race giveaways and finisher medals in the mail upon completion of the virtual race, and trophies will be mailed to winners as per the awards breakdown above.

 

DIRECTIONS:

Prospect Park is a big park with many entrances, please familiarize yourself with the map and directions on our race webpage before race day, we don’t want you to get lost!

 

RESULTS:

Will be posted on our race webpage within 24 hours.
