Run and Walk for Birth: Help Us Raise $10,000 to Build a New Birth Center in Brooklyn
The second annual Haven Midwifery 5K Run/Walk isn’t just about crossing the finish line, it’s about building one. We’re on a mission to raise $10,000 toward opening a birth center right here in Brooklyn, NY, and we need your help to get there.
A new birth center means more options, more safety, and more dignity for women and families. It means access to compassionate, personalized, high-quality midwifery care without the barriers that too often come with traditional hospital births. It means a safe, welcoming space where women can give birth in comfort, with respect, and with the support they deserve.
The 5K takes place during Birth Center Week, bringing together runners, walkers, families, and community members who believe every woman should have access to respectful, informed, and safe maternity care regardless of income level.
Why It Matters
Brooklyn is home to countless women and families who want birth options outside of a hospital setting, yet choices remain limited. Haven Midwifery, a non-profit organization, is committed to changing that. Every step you take in this 5K directly supports their capital campaign to open the doors of Brooklyn’s next birth center.
