From the Organizer
Join us on Friday, July 31st and/or Saturday, August 1st for a wonderful weekend of trails, nature and good vibes!
NOTE: The links below will take you to the Boise Running website for details including course maps, parking, awards, and other important information. Please be aware that the Boise Running team is currently considering NEW 2026 courses that include more singletrack, a start/finish closer to the main lodge, and the same challenging climbs you know & love! Maps currently available starting/finishing from the Frontier Point Lodge are from previous years and available to view as a reference, but may not apply to this year's event.
This INTENSE event is great for hikers, peak baggers, nordic skiers and those who just love a good challenge. We'll be taking the shortest route to the top of Shafer Butte (the highest point in Boise), but shortest doesn't mean easiest! The climb is a combination of terrain, but be prepared for lots of it to be STEEP!
Interested in an extra dose of fun? Camp out with the race team after this event and join us for the 5 mile or 10 mile on Saturday too!

This event is the ultimate challenge, but all the vertical climbing is totally worth it! Climb over 2,000 feet and reach the highest point in all of Boise! This event has a generous cut off time that allows you to hike the entire event and still make it with room to spare! LEARN MORE
This event is perfect for new hikers and trail runners. We believe in the outdoors being accessible to all people, even those that are new to the sport or only can train on flat terrain. With a generous cutoff time (same as the 10 mile!), wide trails without many rocks and rolling terrain, this event is perfect for those of you that are trail curious. LEARN MORE

Proceeds from the Boise Front Trail Festival are donated to Ridge to Rivers - since 2022, we've been able to donate over $20,000 to our trail system. This has directly helped with new trail projects in the Boise Foothills, including the new Hawkins Reserve Trail.
All 5 mile and 10 mile finishers receive a t-shirt and a custom-designed medal.
