From the Organizer
Run in the morning. Celebrate all day.
For the first time ever, Heroes on the Run is part of Heroes & Hounds, a full-day celebration in Bend’s Old Mill District in partnership with the Hungry Hound Doggolympics.
After the race, enjoy a live frisbee show by JD Platt & The K9 Kings. Then, cheer on the Hungry Hound Doggolympics on the lawn at Greg’s Grill. The Doggolympics feature an obstacle agility course, high jump, a 50-yard sprint, and a best trick competition. Dogs can compete or just come hang out. All friendly dogs are welcome.
Adoptable dogs will be on-site all day, along with food and beverage options. We will also have local vendors, and our Kids Zone with a bouncy house, face painting, and more.
Every registration fuels rescue missions, lifesaving medical care, and spay/neuter clinics around the world and right here at home.
To learn more, volunteer, foster, or view adoptable dogs, visit www.streetdoghero.org .

Leashed, friendly dogs are welcome — bring your PAWticipant!
Both races are professionally timed and run along the Deschutes River on a mix of pavement and compacted gravel with minimal elevation gain. The 5K is stroller-friendly throughout, while the 10K extends south of the Bill Healy Bridge onto a more natural, narrower stretch of trail.
Every registered runner receives a custom finisher medal and complimentary beer (21+). Race shirts and PAWticipant bandanas are available as optional add-ons during registration.
Kids Mini Run participants receive their own Street Dog Hero cape and mask, plus a finisher medal.
Awards for the Top 3 Men’s & Women’s finishers (Adult & Youth). Winners choose directly from our Prize Table featuring gift cards, gear, local experiences, and more. Fast feet get first choice.
