From the Organizer
After an incredible 2025 race, we’re excited to invite you back for the Save Your Breath Race & Silent Auction on Sunday, October 18, 2026!
Join us in Augusta for a fun, high-energy day featuring a wide variety of amazing silent auction items up for bid. Whether you're racing for time or just for fun, there’s something for everyone.
Due to its continued popularity, the virtual run option is back—perfect for those who prefer to complete their race on their own schedule or can’t make it to Augusta for the live, chip-timed event managed by Brian Berkemeyer of Run In A Race.
✨ New this year: A timed walk division!
Walkers who choose to be timed will receive an official race bib—just be sure to register specifically for the timed walk to participate. After so many requests last year, we’re thrilled to add this option!
Be sure to check out the details below for a variety of discount codes available for this year’s event.
Enjoy music at the start/finish line before and after you take on this fast, relatively flat out-and-back 5K course along the rail trail—stretching from the Y to the picturesque Adirondack chairs in Hallowell.
Following the race, join us back at the YMCA for the award ceremony and silent auction, beginning once all participants have returned to the gym. Please note: winners must be present to receive their awards.
🏅 All participants will receive a finisher’s medal!
Event t-shirts will be ordered on September 18th. Any registrants after that date will not receive an event tee shirt.
This event is a fundraiser supporting Free ME from Lung Cancer’s mission—funding critical research, helping uninsured high-risk patients access early lung cancer detection through low-dose CT scans, and providing vital resources to those in need.
Your participation also helps:
• Provide radon air abatement systems for low-income homeowners
• Offer transportation to medical appointments and treatments across our rural communities
• Deliver ongoing patient support and care
When you register, please consider making an additional donation or setting up a personal fundraising page. It’s a great way to invite your family, friends, and coworkers to support your run and make an even greater impact.
We have a number of discounts we are able to provide this year which are listed below. If you qualify, please reach out to Deb at lung.support@gmail.com to receive your coupon code. Coupon codes cannot be combined.
This is the only fundraising event we will be hosting this year in support of our foundation’s programs, and we truly appreciate your participation.
Online donations are processed with a 4% fee through the RunSignUp platform. Once again, Free ME from Lung Cancer will cover all race processing fees, ensuring that more of your contribution goes directly toward supporting our mission.
We look forward to seeing you at the finish line on October 18th!
