Come and join us for our 2nd annual 5K and Kids 1 miler. All ages and abilities are welcomed. Run/ and or Walk for RDS, with all proceeds going towards our "Light up the Fields Campaign" to raise funds to have lights installed on our fields located at, 564 Red House Rd Rustburg.
Details: Rustburg Dixie Softball is proud to present its second annual RDS Diamond Diva 5k and kids 1-miler (12 and under) hosted at English Park in Altavista. The RDS Diamond Diva 5k course will take you around English Park and to the back of the park, all adjacent to the Staunton River. A beautiful way to enjoy a spring morning on this flat + fast 5k course! This is a dog and stroller friendly race, please bring the means to pick up after your dog and be mindful of the leash while out on the course. You may also run or walk with a stroller; we just ask that you start at the back with your stroller.
Date: May 4th. 2024
Location: English Park 206 Pittsylvania Ave, Altavista VA.
Start Time: Kids 1-miler 9am, immediately followed by 5k at 9:30am.
Cost: Online early registration-until March 31st is $20, late registration April 1st-May 3rd is $25, and Race-day registration is $30 and takes place from 7:30am until 8:30am at the Booker Building. Kids 1-miler registration $15.
T-Shirts: T-shirts are guaranteed if registered by March 31st. Individuals who want a t-shirt after that time may pick one up at the race if supplies allow. Additional shirts will be $10.
Packet Pickup: Friday May 3rd 4:30pm-7:30pm at RDS fields, 564 Red House Rd Rustburg. Race Day in the Booker Building from 7:30am-8:30am
Awards: All participants in the kids 1-miler will receive a finisher medal at the completion of the kids race. Please make sure to join us in the Booker Building after the 5K race, awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in the kids 1 miler at that time. Awards for the 5k race will be given to the male & female overall winners, and top 3 male & female in each of the following age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
Proceeds will go towards funding the "Light up the Fields Campaign."
